Like snowflakes, we are all unique and beautiful in our own ways. A work of art can be perfect while filled with imperfections. Yet what is imperfection when speaking about works of art like humans? If we are all one-of-a-kind, with no two of us the same, how can imperfection exist? How can a one-and-only be imperfect? It can’t. There can be no comparison to something singular.

We are each a “one of a kind,” therefore perfect as is. Each beautiful in our own right and way. And taking this further, it is wholly possible to admire beauty in another without it diminishing or casting doubt on our own beauty in any way.

Comparing oneself to others brings sadness and discontent. However, comparing yourself to your “yesterday self” is how personal improvement thrives and life satisfaction is most easily improved as well.

Life satisfaction has nothing to do with others. It is a personal reflection: Am I a better person today than yesterday? It matters not what others are doing. What matters is what you are doing to fulfill your own journey. Happiness flourishes when we stop comparing ourselves to other people.
