While I write a lot about living and loving agelessly, this does not mean we will always be happy! In a life-well-lived, there will be plenty of times we’ll feel sad, mad, frustrated, aggravated, confused & scared. And VERY IMPORTANTLY, this doesn’t mean we’re doing anything wrong! To the contrary, we’re more probably living life full-throttle, but our timing may be in need of an adjustment of sorts. ✨

You see, because we make silly comparisons between our lives to how we assume other’s lives are unfolding in comparison to our own — (which is always of course that other’s are sunshiny and glorious always!) — a common misperception is that IF we’re “doing it all right,” then we’ll be happy all the time. Taking this faulty thinking further implies that we must be “doing it wrong” if we’re feeling less than all together all the time. ✨

Let’s adjust these silly attitudes and perceptions! Can we all mark and share this blog as a reminder that just like if you’re hungry you eat, when you feel like you’re going to explode (or just did!) it’s time to realize that some aspect of our emotional being is hungry and not getting fed! Emotional self-care hunger pangs are normal and easily identified by those about-to-lose-it feelings. ✨

Just like lack of food for too long makes us hungry, a lack of emotional balance or stress is the fire that lights fuses that set the stage for what we think of as out-of-control anger. ✨

While sometimes we have to lose it, to find out that we need more quiet, a break, attention, love, or whatever, it remains our individual responsibility to recognize the emotional hunger pangs as they start to arise: The short breaths, agitation, tight stomach, the urge to cry.  And, it is up to each of us to find what we’re looking for because we’re each fully capable of finding or asking for what we need, if necessary. ✨
