We all must be careful about which thoughts we give attention to because just like well-watered plants (or weeds!) whatever gets our focus is what tends to grow (and possibly even take over!) whether we want it to or not.
Just like we weed our gardens so our our plants can establish healthy roots that allow flowers to bloom — it is also helpful to weed out our minds. A great personal development exercise is to consciously work on identifying, pulling out and discarding those invasive ideas that can somehow manage to take up too much space in our head gardens.
Toss those weeded thoughts into the mental compost bin so new healthy ideas and thoughts will ultimately have all the ingredients necessary to flourish. Don’t hesitate to throw in some fresh manure so you’re less likely to rush back and revisit them! 😉
