Today is Veterans Day, the day to honor those men and women who have walked in shoes like these while serving in the United States Armed Forces. 

While we may debate the rights (and wrongs) of free speech, let us maintain respect for those who who have served and their willingness to fight to uphold our right to free speech. 

It is only by listening with open hearts and minds, and speaking kindly that we can communicate our differences constructively.

Note: As always, this is not political commentary. There are plenty of other places for that on the Internet. This essay, like all of my essays, is about: Making the world a better place by focusing on what we can each improve upon in ourselves because I believe this is the pathway to peace.
