Today is the center of 2018. 182 days passed prior to today and there are 182 more that will come. We’re now smack in the center of this year.

The center is a place of strength. The sun is the center of our solar system. The Earth’s center has a gravitational force of zero: If we could get there we should be pulled equally in all directions, leaving us with zero net force. That’s powerful!  In most sports, controlling the center is the superior position.

There’s a big difference in being self-centered and centered. The first, a constant state of dissatisfaction; The later a far more peaceful, harmonious and balanced position. A calm centered self is a productive self. Being centered, or ‘centering” refers to calming our mental state so that our physical being can benefit.

Today is a good day to ask yourself: How am I doing? Am I centered in my life? What can I do to balance my emotions so that my physical being is strong to not just last…but to thrive for many more years?  Being centered is not some “whoo whoo” kind of thinking. It’s smart, healthier, and helps us to become more peaceful. Note: I’m not saying it is easy. Nor did I say I’ve mastered it. I wish!…so I try. Over and over again. Succeeding, failing, learning about myself and others…and trying again.

When emotions heat up and try to flex their strength over our peaceful minds, the goal is always to stop. Just start watching. Zip it…and breathe. This is the path to getting centered.

If we can let our hearts rule our minds, our bodies strengthen: We watch our emotions but not re-act to them. Instead, we observe and remind ourselves of the big picture. The goal of centeredness and peaceful lives—because from this powerful place of our center, we can live more satisfying, healthier, energetic, positive lives.

Today is the perfect day to try again— knowing the power of the Center of 2018 is ready to support our goals of greater, peaceful, emotional and physical centeredness.
