“How old are you?” is a question we each ask and are asked. Why? What it is that we are all trying to compare, reference or determine?

Unless it’s the social security office or the discount line at the movie theater, how about from now on, when asked about our age, we simply state, “Ageless.” Or, “How old am I? I’m not old at all!”  Or maybe, “I’m as young as I feel, and today I feel amazingly terrific!”

While I readily admit my age according to the Gregorian calendar — I mostly feel ageless— so the number is irrelevant to me. I don’t relate to time other than making sure I meet deadlines and commitments if other people are involved. Otherwise, my days are timeless. In fact, I can’t wait to wake up and I often wish sleep wasn’t a necessity. Even when I get stuck in traffic or otherwise annoyed … it’s not like I can really say it was a long or short time. It just was.

If we met Mother Earth, and were able to ask her a question, somehow I don’t think the conversation starter would be: So, how many times did you rotate the Sun?
