A couple of years ago my daughter who entered her teen years listening to music on an iPhone asked for a record player. She didn’t think I knew what it was, and explained that we’d have to buy vinyls to go with it. For many of us vinyl still smells better than a download. Growing up with record players and albums, most of us in our Silver Disobedience years are still largely willing to pay for our music choices instead of pirating them. We respect the work of musicians and how they have impacted our lives. We like music that take us back in time, triggering memories…and we enjoy current day artists as well. Did you know our age group makes up almost one quarter of online music sales…and we still love live music, as well? After all — Who else but us is paying those outrageous ticket scalper prices for the last Rolling Stones, U2, Billy Joel, Paul McCartney and Grateful Dead concerts…or Bruce Springsteen on Broadway?

Life spins us round, round baby round round like a record baby round round, round round…And…as Eminem said, “I am who I am and I say what I think. I’m not putting a face on for the record.” What music gets you pumped up? Tell me about your favorite albums and concerts!
