Every good relationship involves give and take…but really…mostly give.

Each of us was born with many gifts to give. Likewise, each of us must decide which of our gifts we will share and give away. Sometimes we hide our treasures. We lock up our gifts deep down afraid to risk sharing. Thinking we might run out. Withholding our gifts in any relationship causes us to miss countless opportunities.

While most things can be purchased, giving ourselves to another is priceless. These gifts include our love, time, focus, trust, attention, respect, kindness, patience, laughter, listening, touch and so many other intangibles that are impossible to list.

The most interesting thing to remember about gifts is that to be wholly received, gifts must be opened.
