If you ever wonder why it sometimes feels like you’re riding a roller coaster of emotions… If you feel your head is getting  twisted and turned up, down and around at random times throughout the day…If you think “If people knew what I think about, they’d run away and leave me alone.”…If you feel misunderstood and lonely due to your mix of feelings…It’s safe to say: Hello! Sounds like you’re Human, too!

Let’s look at some psychology facts.

Researchers have determined that basically, there are  8 universal emotions: Anger. Fear. Disgust. Happiness. Sadness. Surprise. Trust. Contempt.

Add to this the fact that each of us typically has between 60,000 to 80,000 thoughts a day, or 2,500 to 3,300 per hour.  This tidbit alone makes it easy to imagine why we might sometimes feel whiplashed!

While love is believed to be the most powerful, anger has picked up some power, largely due to the “viral” nature of it, particularly in a digital world.

When anger overcomes our other senses, peace, love and understanding seem to disappear. The fact is— they are still there like the sun, just temporarily covered by the clouds of anger.

The main causes of negative thinking are exhaustion, stress, hunger, lack of adequate sleep, and illness.

So, if you’d like more positive thinking? Sleep, exercise and make healthy food choices because this will help reduce stress, keep illness away and enhance more positive emotions.  Note I said, “enhance” not eliminate. No matter what, we’ll all have those “moments.” The key is to remember, another “moment” is coming. The clouds move with the forces of nature and the sun shines again in its full glory.
