Since everyday life IS life… if we want to say sane and healthy (and we do!) we need to learn how to enhance our skills of observation. Practicing observation is the best way to maintain peace, our minds and a piece of our minds!
Observation (v) isn’t doing nothing. It’s a very active process of choosing to watch (Key word: ‘watch’…not ‘feel’…not ‘internalize’) the chaos around us. To observe (notice) the rapidity, rigidity, frustrations, emotions, tensions and bouts of anger —internally & externally—that take us out of the center zone.
The more we choose to try observing again (and again and again!) — instead of reacting, commenting, getting upset and all those other responses that take us away from peace— the better we become at maintaining balance, peace, love and understanding.
While we each may fail often…the secret is to keep trying because those times we succeed? Nothing feels better. There’s a lot of peace in nothing.
