Randomly, I’m going to start sharing some of my ongoing longevity research and personal experiments that I’m testing. Here’s some longevity research worth a read…followed by action!

IF you ever needed a reason to off the couch or step away from your desk and walk or go scrub floors or garden or vacuum or chop wood, here’s one. New research has indisputably shown that any extended sitting — like at a desk, driving or on a computer — can be harmful to our health and longevity. A compilation of 13 studies that assessed sitting time vs. activity levels found that those sitting for more than eight hours a day with little or no physical activity had a risk of dying similar to the risks of dying due to obesity and smoking!  So, even if you never smoked — your risk of ill health and dying early is comparable if you don’t get moving. But here’s the good news: The moment you get moving, or quit smoking (if you do), more oxygen can be taken in by your lungs and distributed to your cells which allows your body to clean out stored gunk and hit refresh.

Today is a great day to plan 3 to 5 ten minute walks throughout your day or longer ones when time allows! Do it…no just…Do it for the health of it!
