Let’s talk about the news. Actually let’s not — because I ONLY like to talk about ourselves, our perceptions and our reactions to people, events and things!  SO, instead, let’s talk about how the extremes in life can percolate, fester, amalgamate, twist, captivate, shock, awe and more — yet ultimately — in a healthy conversation or society — ultimately create new levels of understanding for the most of us who I believe reside in the middle of the extremes.

Getting to new understandings — that are constructive, societally beneficially, morally sound and good for most, if not all, but definitely not just a few — take time. The require debate based on facts.

And feelings?! Of course those enter any emotionally lively discussions!

Feelings can be very complex and tend to be highly individual. In general, feelings are emotional states that we experience in response to various stimuli. They can be positive (like happiness or love) or negative (like sadness or anger), and they can vary in intensity from mild to intense.

Feelings are for the most part the result of our thoughts and perceptions, and they can affect both our mental and physical health. It’s important to pay attention to our feelings and understand what’s causing them, because sometimes they can give us valuable clues about ourselves, our lives and how we are interpreting the “news” in every aspect of life that impacts us — both directly and personally as well as far and wide.

So before you pull your hair out: Try turn down the noise. Cut the external stimuli. Recognize what is in your power to change. Discuss facts and identify feelings as such. Breathe. Play. Have some fun. Life is more good than bad…even when it is crazy.
