It is not easy to trust that things will work out as we might hope. Life regularly tests our belief in ourselves and the Master Plan.  IF you’re currently struggling with trust in any way — whether trust in yourself, others, situations or anything else — maybe some of these ideas will help your faith. They do help me when I need to regroup.

-Take the practice of being mindful seriously. Simply stopping. Really stopping and taking a few deep breaths can help us get grounded in the moment, while reducing anxiety about the future.

-When negative thoughts arise, try to reframe them in a more positive light. For example, instead of thinking “This is never going to work out,” try thinking “I don’t know how it’s going to work out, but I trust that it will.”

-Instead of worrying about all the things that are out of your control, grab a pen & paper and manually write out what you can control.

-Draw on your past successes by recalling times when things worked out well and remind yourself in detail about how you were able to overcome past challenges. Remembering your wins can help rebuild confidence regarding your ability to handle difficult situations.

-Talk to friends, family, or a therapist about your fears and concerns. Support systems can help you feel less alone and more confident in your ability to handle challenges.

-Talk to God and ask for strength. You are not alone. Remember that.

-Lastly…did I mention…stop and take a few deep breaths? 😉
