To interpret means to give meaning to, explain, construe or understand in a particular way. None of us interpret words or situation exactly the same.

Often, I’ll write a blog, in reflection. In response, my words are interpreted via comments: Many in ways that I had never even considered. Sometimes the interpretations are refreshing & enlightening: I smile as I learn and consider an entirely new perspective. Other responses make me want to scream “Ouch” as the interpretations of my essay, expressed in stinging words, damn my perspective via a perception I never considered.

Psychology research confirms that we each respond to all forms of stimulation differently based on our personal histories, which includes our education, upbringing and societal persuasions.

Even more interesting, is that the same information presented twice or more will trigger different responses because the neurons in our perirhinal cortex, an important area for memory, recognizes the information and processes it with old & new data sets.

This all gets down to the fact that when something concerns our psychological perspective, there is no such thing as a stimulus/motive/turn-on/motivation/impetus/instigation or whatever existing independently from our response. The more we’re stimulated by that situation, person or thing — even if it seems to be the same, which is unlikely as everything is ever-changing — our responses will change endlessly as well.

Please consider this a public service announcement that we are not the same as yesterday (nor is anything or anyone surrounding us) and we won’t be or feel the same way tomorrow either.  Lastly, I thank you all in advance for any responses—but IF in any way you think I meant this as a personal affront, please be assured, that is not and will never be my intention.
