We all seek to convey a certain image of who we are. All of us have individual needs and they materialize for the world to see based on the images we feel a need to project. Culture, family & the media in its many forms add pressure and influence many of our decisions. In some ways, our responses to these outside forces imply a belief that we subconsciously think, “one size fits all” — so we strive to fit-in.

Meaningful living is grounded in recognizing our strengths and weaknesses, accepting who we are by nature, while changing and learning more of what we need to know so that it might better us and improve our circumstances.  The end goal is to accept that it’s ok to do what we’re doing for ourselves rather than to impress others.

Accepting this “self-ishness” for lack of a better word is a good thing. Owning who we are and fulfilling what we believe is our destiny benefits not only us, but those we love and even the world. The more we accept that what we want out of our lives is unique to ourselves, the more opportunities appear to help us accomplish our goals. Taking advantage of these opportunities is not selfish. It’s how life is supposed to work if we’re open to letting it deliver it’s miraculous power to us.

And here’s the big thing: Taking advantage of what comes our way when we act in a way to inspire abundance is fantastic, right and healthy for you. It’s not something to be embarrassed about as we feel more exposed and open to the world. It’s time to share the secret parts of ourselves. Have the courage to let your inner-self loose! It won’t betray you. Rather, it might help rid yourself of superficiality and superficial needs that weren’t quite fulfilling in the first place.

When we act not to impress, but to really try to risk expressing our essence, amazing forces come to help us go in the directions of our dreams.
