Flying high in life requires that we have the energy to burst ahead in the moment. To do this, we have to learn to manage pacing and planning the allocation of our energy along the way of life to reach the finish line.

Life demands moments of immense power and strength — to push forward, hold our heads high, and keep our acts together. The flying analogy fits for both unexpected wonderful opportunities as well as those we plan for where we just have to jump start our energy and go for it.

Pacing for the long haul relates to things like patience and commitment. Great things that last rarely come from instant gratification moments: Greatness in anything builds with time and by chipping away at whatever the objective is, building our strength to confront the energy demand, stamina, fortitude and perseverance required.

Every aspect of life requires us to consider our short-term and long-term perspectives. And, while flying through life at times is regularly demanded, pacing and enjoying the scenery are important, too, as we push ourselves forward to wherever we want to finish.

The best ways to keep our energy high are to get adequate rest, drink plenty of water, eat fruits and vegetables at every meal, do things we love, maintain friendships, and keep our bodies moving. Go fly high and make it a great day!
