The act of believing creates a special strength of its own.
Every fall I love to plant bulbs and maybe you do, too. Something about those dried up little bulbs with their crispy, flakey skin amazes me. I plant them with doubt and wait with anticipation. Winter arrives. I observe the bare trees that look dead. Their leaves are long gone. The possibility of life springing forth again seems impossible.
Ultimately spring arrives according to the calendar’s promise. The bright green sheaths of the beautiful crocuses pop up, often pushing through cold and still snowy earth. They bloom in bright purples, whites and yellows. They make me smile, reminding us all of rebirth and renewal. The power of nature, of life, wins yet again.
