The easiest way to get back into the groove of peacefulness when life, others, circumstances, whatever pull us into chaos is this: Remind yourself you’re watching a passing show.

Circuses come into town and they leave. They’re a passing show. Such are many of the daily events of life. They happen and they’re over and gone. That’s if we let them go.

While it’s wonderful to allow joyful moments to linger in our hearts and minds, when the moment is more rampageous, tumultuous, disordered, unsettling or anything that is taking us out of unity with others, remember life is a bit of a circus. Step back, watch it, observe the characters: Life is a passing show. It is filled with scenes we’ll always remember and those we wish we could forget. Yet, it all passes and far too quickly.

So when your peace gets pulled into chaos, remember this: Do your best to silence your words and watch the passing show.  Then from a calmer place, you can decide what actions if any are necessary.
