Anticipation is the action of looking forward to something. Unlike anxiety which would be fearing what might happen, anticipation is usually highlighted as a sense of excitement towards a perceived joyful, positive event. Poet Paul Valery said, “The task of the mind is to produce future.” So finding those moments in life, where we can get excited with anticipation, can be an awesome way to set the tone for a day…or a life!

I like living in a state of anticipation of what marvelous thing might happen next. I believe the more I set my thinking into wondrous anticipation, the more my expectations are fulfilled. I associate the marvels of anticipation with new adventures, birth, the changes of each season, conversations with friends, unexpected yet delightful surprises, and news of good things to come.

Tomorrow, I’ll be sharing news about something I’ve been working on, imagining and anticipating. I hope you’ll be as excited as I am!
