Act 2 in The Play of Life can start at anytime. And, in act-uality it might be your 3, 4, 5 or 59th act!

All sorts of circumstances along with the roles other people choose to play will likely require several re-writes of our evolving life scripts. Critics will opine on how well we were able to challenge and manage our emotional range as the stories unfold.

To really work the character we’ve chosen to play at any given time will require that we work to hone our talents because we’ll need confidence to play our roles convincingly so that we can connect with others. Our physicality, motivation, intentions along with our ability to effectively convey our emotions are all necessary if we are to give our best performance. Our eyes will tell much of the story.

The best performers are constantly improving their skills by studying, reading and finding teachers to help them learn.  To master our roles we’ll need to silently observe others — so we can decide what we would like to incorporate into our character — or maybe identify the less helpful characteristics. We’ll need to explore our emotions to understand how they come into play in response to others and circumstances. We can reuse what we know worked: Many of the best actors are older, as they have a bank of experience to draw out ways to improve their character.

Most paramount to every act at every stage of life is this:  Show up daily for the auditions. Give your Play of Life all you have to give!
